This Diseased Sci-Fi resin miniature brings the Mortis Plague Lord to your tabletop in grim, imposing detail. Standing approximately 32mm scale, this single-character hero kit arrives as a physical resin miniature with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting. The sculpt captures a towering warrior of pestilence clad in corrupted power armour, festooned with decay and rot motifs including skull-adorned knee guards, a grotesque chest plate, and a billowing tattered cloak.

The kit is a multi-part assembly comprising the torso, legs, two head variants, a large cleaving sword, a sidearm, a corrupted backpack unit loaded with canisters and pipes, a shoulder pad, a flowing cloak piece, and a detailed debris scatter base. Each component fits together cleanly to produce a commanding centrepiece model suitable for leading a warband or serving as a standalone collector piece.

Sculpted by Atlan Forge, this Diseased Sci-Fi character is designed for use in grimdark sci-fi wargaming rulesets and fits naturally alongside 28mm to 32mm scale forces. Whether you field it as a warlord, sorcerer, or plague champion, the sheer visual weight of the model commands attention on any battlefield. The level of surface detail rewards careful painting and makes it a strong candidate for display-quality showcase work.

Parts are cast in high-quality grey resin. We recommend washing the parts in warm soapy water before priming. Assembly requires hobby plastic or super glue. Designed for adult hobbyists seeking a centrepiece model with real presence.

Painting Guide: Diseased Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniature - Mortis Plague Lord

This guide is written for painters of all experience levels and covers a grimdark, heavily weathered approach suited to the Diseased Sci-Fi aesthetic of this miniature.

1. Prime

  • Spray with a dark grey or black primer to preserve shadow depth across the sculpt's heavily detailed surfaces.
  • A zenithal highlight using light grey spray from above helps define raised areas before any paint is applied.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the armour panels in a muted, desaturated green such as Death Guard Green or Castellan Green.
  • Apply a wash of Agrax Earthshade or Athonian Camoshade across all armour to deepen recesses and add immediate grime.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out trim, pipes, and canisters in a tarnished brass or dirty gold, then wash with a brown ink to kill any brightness.
  • Paint skull motifs and bone details in Ushabti Bone, washed with Seraphim Sepia for a stained ivory look.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the large sword blade in dark metal, then drybrush with a cold silver to bring up the edge and texture.
  • Add a sickly glow effect to any gemstone or energy elements using thin layers of yellow-green building up to white at the centre.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple chipping onto armour edges using a torn blister foam and a dark brown mixed with black for realistic battle damage.
  • Add patches of rust using orange and brown stippling, particularly around joints, canisters, and the backpack unit.
  • Use a watered-down Nurgle's Rot or similar technical paint on recessed areas and the cloak hem to suggest biological corruption.

6. Bases

  • Drybrush the rubble base with successive lighter greys from dark to near-white, then add a thin gloss varnish to puddles or wet-looking areas for contrast.
  • Finish with tufts of dead grass or mossy static grass to tie the model into a blighted, post-apocalyptic landscape.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
