The Demonic Arachne Dreadnought is a towering hybrid of infernal flesh and brutal mechanical engineering, designed to dominate the battlefield and inspire dread in all who face it. This physical resin miniature arrives already printed, with supports removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting. The figure depicts a massive horned daemon fused at the torso to a four-legged mechanical walker chassis, its mechanical limbs each capped with skull-adorned housings wrapped in coiling serpentine forms. The upper body is a grotesque mass of rippling musculature, exposed ribbing, and corroded armour plating, wielding an oversized serrated blade aloft in one clawed fist. Standing approximately 100mm tall to the top of its horns and spanning roughly 120mm across the walker legs, this miniature commands serious table presence.
The sculpt is packed with grimdark detail across every surface. Corroded mechanical joints sit alongside organic sinew and bone-fused plating. The skull-tipped mechanical arms carry serpentine tendrils and ram-horned trophy skulls, giving the model a menacing, otherworldly character suited to chaotic or infernal warbands. The daemon torso features a secondary maw on the abdomen, rows of exposed ribs, and deep claw marks across the chest armour, telling the story of countless brutal engagements. Every centimetre rewards close inspection and careful painting.
This miniature is supplied as a multi-part physical resin kit. Plastic-compatible super glue or two-part epoxy is recommended for assembly. Miniature bases are not included. As with all fine resin collectibles, handle with care during assembly and wear appropriate protection when sanding any rough edges before priming.
The Demonic Arachne Dreadnought is a centrepiece model suitable for display, competitive wargaming, and diorama projects. It is compatible with most 28mm to 32mm scale grimdark sci-fi and fantasy tabletop systems and will stand as the centrepiece of any infernal warband or chaos-aligned force.
Painting Guide: Demonic Arachne Dreadnought – Resin MiniatureThe following guide gives you a recommended workflow for painting this model to a strong tabletop or display standard, drawing out the grimdark character of the sculpt through layering, washes, and targeted weathering.
1. Prime
- Clean the model with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry fully before priming.
- Apply a zenithal prime using a black base coat followed by a light grey or off-white coat from above to establish natural shadow and highlight zones.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all mechanical plating with a dark iron or gunmetal grey, such as Leadbelcher or Scale75 Scalecolor Steel.
- Basecoat the organic flesh areas with a warm mid-tan or pale ochre, keeping tones muted and desaturated for a grimdark feel.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out corroded trim and rivets in a deep bronze or tarnished brass using a fine detail brush.
- Paint the skulls and bone elements with a light bone basecoat, then wash with a sepia or light brown tone to shade the recesses.
4. Weapons
- Paint the serrated blade with a dark steel base, then drybrush with a lighter silver towards the edges to simulate worn metal.
- Add a glow effect at the blade core using thin glazes of deep red or sickly green, building up from the centre outward.
5. Weathering
- Apply a pin wash of dark brown or black over all mechanical joints and recesses to define the sculpted detail.
- Stipple chipped paint and battle damage effects on the armour panels using a small sponge or torn blister foam dipped in a darker tone.
- Add rust streaks from rivets and joints using a thin orange-brown applied with a fine brush or oil paint dot technique.
6. Bases
- Build an infernal wasteland base using texture paste, cracked earth effects, or cork rubble, and finish with a deep red or lava-glow OSL effect if desired to complement the model's demonic character.
