The Demon War Machine is a towering cyber-daemon engine of iron and malice, sculpted for grimdark wargaming tables where horror and technology collide. This physical resin miniature arrives with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting straight out of the box. Standing on a detailed scenic oval base, the model measures approximately 60-70mm in height and spans roughly 100mm from snapping jaws to spiked tail, making it an imposing centrepiece for any warband or collection.
Every surface of this Demon War Machine bristles with menace. A ridge of serrated dorsal spines runs the full length of the creature's armoured back, while a segmented mechanical tail extends outward like a whip of bone and iron. The head features a gaping, fang-filled maw flanked by a secondary mechanical skull, conveying a sense of savage, corrupted intelligence. Heavy industrial armour plates are fused directly to the daemon's body, studded with rivets, cables, and vented exhaust ports that hint at a blasphemous fusion of flesh and machine. The forelimbs are fitted with brutal close-combat weapons, coiled with mechanical tubing and tipped with serrated blades, making the whole figure feel like a living engine of destruction.
Sculpted by Atlan Forge, this single-model kit suits skirmish games, large-scale wargames, and display collections. The level of surface detail rewards careful painting and is designed for experienced hobbyists who enjoy a rewarding build and paint project. The model is supplied in grey resin and requires assembly glue, paint, and hobby tools, all sold separately.
Whether used as a boss creature, a corrupted war-beast, or a lore-accurate grimdark centrepiece, the Demon War Machine will dominate any battlefield it joins.
Painting Guide: Demon War Machine – Resin Miniature Cyber-Daemon EngineThis guide will walk you through painting your Demon War Machine from primer to finished showpiece, using a grim, industrial colour palette suited to its corrupted aesthetic.
1. Prime
- Apply a black or dark grey spray primer evenly across all surfaces, paying attention to the deep recesses between armour plates and around the spines.
- Once dry, apply a thin zenithal highlight of light grey from above to establish natural light direction before applying any colour.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the heavy armour plates in a dark iron or gunmetal, working in thin layers to preserve surface detail.
- Layer a slightly lighter metallic tone onto raised edges and panel faces to create depth and contrast across the large armoured surfaces.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint cables, rivets, and mechanical joints in a deep brass or bronze tone to differentiate them from the main armour panels.
- Pick out the secondary skull-like head structure in a bone or pale ivory to make it visually distinct from the surrounding metal.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the close-combat blades in dark steel, then edge highlight with a bright silver to suggest sharpened, well-used killing tools.
- Apply a thin glaze of orange-brown into the recesses of blades and tubing to suggest heat staining and old gore.
5. Weathering
- Wash all metallic areas with a dark brown or black shade to deepen recesses and simulate accumulated grime across the war machine's aged hull.
- Stipple chipping effects onto armour plates using a small sponge and a mix of dark brown and bright metal to simulate battle damage.
6. Bases
- Paint the scenic oval base in scorched earth and ash tones, adding a dark red or rust wash to tie it into a hellish, industrial battlefield aesthetic that suits the Demon War Machine's character perfectly.
