The Cybernetic Wooly Rhino is a hulking beast of fur, flesh, and war-forged iron, built to charge through the most brutal battlefields in the grimdark far future. This physical resin miniature arrives fully printed, supports already removed, and cleaned, ready for assembly and painting. Standing as a large-scale centrepiece model, it measures approximately 100mm long and 70mm tall at the shoulder, making it an imposing presence on any wargaming table.
The sculpt captures every savage detail of this war beast, from its thick, textured fur and armoured plating bolted directly into its hide, to the heavy weapon systems mounted across its back. Three distinct configurations are shown, including a rider variant featuring a barbaric warrior mounted up top, a turret variant with a forward-facing cannon emplacement, and a command variant with a maned warlord directing the charge. Each configuration gives players and collectors the flexibility to build a unit that suits their warband or army theme.
The Cybernetic Wooly Rhino slots naturally into any grimdark sci-fi force that blends savage tribal culture with brutal industrial warfare. The chain mail, riveted armour panels, exhaust vents, and oversized horn reinforcement all speak to a faction that tames and weaponises nature itself. Whether used as a solo centrepiece or as part of a monstrous cavalry unit, this model will dominate both the battlefield and the display shelf.
Supplied as a physical resin miniature kit. Assembly and painting required. Superglue is recommended for joining parts. The Cybernetic Wooly Rhino is designed for adult hobbyists who enjoy detailed, characterful centrepiece models for grimdark sci-fi wargaming.
Painting Guide: Cybernetic Wooly Rhino - Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniatureThis guide is written for hobbyists of all skill levels and will help you bring this savage war beast to life with a brutal, grimdark aesthetic.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer across the entire model, working into the recesses of the fur and armour panels.
- Allow to dry fully before proceeding to base coats.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all armour plates and bolted panels with a dark iron or gunmetal grey, such as Leadbelcher or similar metallic.
- Apply a mid-tone brown or dark ochre over the fur areas, building up coverage in thin layers to preserve texture.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out rivets, bolts, and mechanical joints with a bright silver or steel tone to make them pop against the darker armour.
- Paint the horn and hooves with a bone or off-white base, then shade with a brown wash for a natural, aged look.
4. Weapons
- Paint cannon barrels and mounted weapon systems in dark steel, then dry brush with a lighter metallic to highlight raised edges.
- Add spot colours such as a deep red or sickly green to power cells, lenses, or exhaust vents for visual interest.
5. Weathering
- Apply a full wash of dark brown or black ink over the fur to deepen recesses and add grime.
- Stipple rust and chipping onto armour plates using a torn blister foam or a fine brush loaded with orange-brown paint.
- Streak dirty washes down the legs and belly to suggest mud and battlefield wear.
6. Bases
- Match the base to your army scheme, a scorched wasteland with cracked earth and ember tones works well to complement the model's savage industrial character.
- Finish with a matte varnish to protect the paint job and reduce shine across the fur and armour surfaces.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
