The Cybernetic Spinosaurus is a towering, heavily augmented apex predator built for the far-future battlefield, where flesh and steel have fused into a single unstoppable war machine. Standing at an estimated 120mm in length from snout to tail tip, this resin miniature captures every brutal detail of a living weapon: layered armour plating bolted across the flanks, a rotary cannon and targeting optics mounted along the dorsal sail, and mechanical joint reinforcements replacing much of the creature's natural musculature. The sculpt leans hard into grimdark sci-fi territory, making it equally at home as a centrepiece monster or a battlefield engine of destruction.
This physical resin miniature arrives with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and prime. The level of sculpted detail is exceptional, rewarding painters at every skill level. Skull trophies hang from the armour, tubing snakes between mechanical components, and the iconic neural control collar wraps around the neck in a grim display of domination. The Cybernetic Spinosaurus ships on an oval display base, giving it a commanding presence on any gaming table or display shelf.
Designed for collectors and wargamers who demand grimdark spectacle, this miniature pairs naturally with mechanised infantry, warbands, or monstrous creature collections. Whether you field it as a rampaging siege beast or paint it as a trophy piece, it is one of those rare sculpts that earns a permanent place in any collection.
Scale fits within standard 28mm to 32mm wargaming environments. The model is a single large centrepiece piece suited to experienced hobbyists comfortable working with fine resin detail.
Painting Guide: Cybernetic Spinosaurus - Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniatureThe following guide will help you bring out the full grimdark character of this sculpt, from the scarred organic hide to the battle-worn mechanical systems layered across the body.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or black primer spray evenly across the entire model to establish a neutral base for both organic and metallic surfaces.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all armour plates with a dark iron or gunmetal grey, such as Leadbelcher or Dark Steel.
- Block in the organic hide with a deep olive green or muddy brown to contrast against the cold metal.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out rivets, cables, and mechanical joints with a bright silver or polished steel tone to add depth and separation.
- Use a dark green or sickly yellow for any exposed tubing or vents to suggest chemical or biological systems.
4. Weapons
- Paint the rotary cannon barrel with a blackened metal tone and add a subtle heat-stain gradient toward the muzzle using orange and blue washes.
- Drybrush targeting optics with a light silver, then glaze with a red or green tint for a powered lens effect.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash across all recesses on both the armour and the hide, letting it pool in panel lines and scale gaps.
- Stipple rust effects on armour edges using orange and brown paints, and add scratches with a fine brush using a light silver mix.
6. Bases
- Texture the base with ash waste basing paste or a grey rubble mix, drybrush with pale bone, and add spot colour with a single bright element such as a glowing hazard stripe or a rusted pipe fragment.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
