Forgotten Champions brings you Calistra, a battle-hardened human fighter who carves her path through conflict with brutal efficiency and an iron will. Sculpted by Haito, this stunning 32mm resin miniature captures Calistra mid-combat, her heavy chain weapon coiling with deadly momentum as a spiked flail tears through the rubble beneath her boots.
Inspired by the mercenary way of life, Calistra wears layered travelling garb reinforced with grieves etched with grotesque relief work, speaking to a warrior who earns her keep on the fringes of forgotten wars. The chain she wields loops dramatically across the sculpt, giving the miniature incredible dynamic energy and a sense of raw, controlled violence. A bestial mask clutched in one gauntleted fist hints at trophies taken from fallen foes.
Every detail across this Forgotten Champions release rewards patient painters. The braided belt adornments, the textured linen wrap at her waist, the worn leather of her boots, and the intricate lion-head embellishments on her armour all provide rich focal points for both quick contrast techniques and advanced blending work. The sculpt ships in two orientations shown, front and back, so you can plan your approach before a single brush touches resin.
This set contains 1 highly detailed resin miniature supplied unpainted and unassembled. Miniature requires cleaning and preparation before painting. Not suitable for children under 15 years.
Painting Guide: Calistra - Human FighterThis Forgotten Champions fighter rewards a warm, sun-bleached palette offset by cold steel and deep shadow. Keep her tones earthy and worn to reinforce her mercenary roots.
1. Prime
- Prime with a mid-grey spray to preserve both light and shadow detail across the complex chain work and layered clothing
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the greaves and gauntlets with a deep brown leather tone, then drybrush with a lighter tan to pick out the sculpted relief carvings
- Apply a muted bone or aged ivory to the lion-head mask detail to separate it from the surrounding armour
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out belt fittings and braided cord with a desaturated gold or tarnished bronze to keep the palette grimdark rather than heroic
- Paint the linen wrap in a warm off-white and wash with a diluted sepia to add grime and shadow into the fabric folds
4. Weapons
- Paint the chain links with a dark steel basecoat, then edge highlight with a cold silver to make each link read clearly at arm's length
- Work the spiked flail head with a heavier application of rust wash concentrated at the spike bases, suggesting heavy use on the battlefield
5. Weathering
- Stipple chipping fluid effects across the greaves using a torn sponge and dark brown before a final silver edge highlight pass to simulate real impact damage
- Draw thin scratches onto the chain links with a fine detail brush and bright silver to suggest constant friction wear, keeping this Forgotten Champions warrior looking lived-in
6. Bases
- Drybrush the rubble base with light grey over a dark brown undercoat, add a spot of orange rust wash to the broken armour fragments on the base, and finish with a static grass tuft pressed into the corner for contrast against the stone
