Boss Smirknife is a hulking, green-skinned brute built for close-quarters carnage, and this physical resin miniature captures every brutal detail at 32mm scale. Supplied with supports already removed and cleaned, the model arrives ready to assemble and paint straight out of the box. This is a single-character release depicting one imposing warlord-class fighter.

Every surface of Boss Smirknife rewards careful study. The figure wears a patchwork of scavenged armour plates, heavy chain strapping, and a ram-horned skull trophy mounted at the shoulder. Twin aerial rods rise from a battered helmet fitted with glowing goggle lenses. A wide, serrated cleaver is clutched in one fist, its spine studded with riveted weights and exhaust vents. The opposite hand grips what appears to be a smouldering explosive device, held casually near a wide, fang-filled grin. A bulky mechanical backpack sits across the shoulders, packed with fuel canisters, cabling, and crude jury-rigged tech. The base depicts cracked wasteland rock, adding to the grimdark battlefield atmosphere.

The sculpt is rich in texture contrast: smooth, muscular green skin sits against rough bone trophies, matte leather strapping, and cold metallic hardware. Painters of all experience levels will find a satisfying variety of surfaces to work across.

Boss Smirknife stands approximately 50mm tall to the top of the antenna rods on its 40mm round base, making it a dominant centrepiece at the standard 32mm game scale.

Painting Guide: Boss Smirknife, Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures, 32mm Scale

The following guide walks you through a practical painting sequence designed to bring out the gritty, industrial character of this miniature from primer to finished base.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or black spray primer in thin, even coats, ensuring full coverage in recesses around the chain strapping and backpack canisters.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat exposed skin with a mid-green such as Castellan Green or Warboss Green.
  • Block in leather strapping with Rhinox Hide or Scorched Brown, and paint armour plates with a neutral dark grey.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out the goggle lenses with a bright green, glazed with a yellow-green to create an eerie glow effect.
  • Paint bone trophies with Ushabti Bone, shaded with Agrax Earthshade and highlighted up to Screaming Skull at the edges.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the cleaver blade with Leadbelcher, then apply a wash of Nuln Oil to settle into the riveted details.
  • Highlight the cutting edge with Stormhost Silver for a worn, sharpened look.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple thinned Rhinox Hide onto armour plates and the backpack for rust patches, then add small orange-brown streaks flowing downward from bolt heads.
  • Drybrush exposed metal areas lightly with Ironbreaker to simulate wear and scratches.

6. Bases

  • Paint the cracked rock texture with a dark grey basecoat, drybrush with Administratum Grey, and finish the rim with a deep olive or brown to complement the wasteland theme.
