The BlightShield Witches Squad arrives as a set of 5 highly detailed physical resin miniatures, sculpted in a grimdark sci-fi style and scaled at 32mm. Each figure has been individually printed in high-resolution resin, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so the squad arrives ready to assemble and paint straight from the box.

This squad blends corrupted warrior aesthetics with arcane, plague-touched iconography. The unit includes a central champion carrying a star-headed mace and a heavy bolted shield, flanked by four retinue members bearing oversized mechanical axes, serrated blades, and coiling tentacle mutations rising from their backpacks and shoulders. Robes, flowing cloaks, and layered armour plates give each model a distinct silhouette while keeping the squad visually cohesive. The BlightShield Witches Squad is ideal for use as an elite infantry or psyker unit in grimdark sci-fi wargaming systems, or as a centrepiece warband in skirmish games.

Poses are dynamic and varied across the five figures, with aggressive stances and raised weapons suggesting mid-combat action. Horns, skull motifs, studded armour, and organic mutations add layers of lore-rich detail that reward careful painting. The squad works equally well as a standalone collector's display piece or as a fully functional tabletop unit. The BlightShield Witches Squad is a rewarding build for experienced hobbyists who enjoy working with characterful, highly detailed resin kits.

Painting Guide: BlightShield Witches Squad by DakkaDakka, Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures, 32mm Scale

This guide walks you through a suggested paint scheme to bring out the corrupted, plague-witch character of these miniatures. Intermediate painting experience is recommended but beginners with patience will achieve strong results.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or black spray primer evenly across all surfaces from roughly 25cm distance.
  • Allow full drying time before proceeding, checking for any areas that need a second thin pass.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour plates in a deep, desaturated green such as Death World Forest or Castellan Green.
  • Apply a secondary basecoat of off-white or pale bone on robes and cloaks to create contrast.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint metallic trim in a dark bronze or tarnished gold using stippling to suggest age and corrosion.
  • Pick out studded details and bolts in a cold silver to draw the eye to structural features.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat axe heads and maces in leadbelcher, then wash heavily with Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil.
  • Drybrush edges lightly with Stormhost Silver to create a worn, battle-used finish.

5. Weathering

  • Apply streaks of rust pigment or Typhus Corrosion texture paint to lower armour panels and weapon hafts.
  • Use thinned Plaguebearer Flesh or a pale sickly yellow to glaze tentacle and organic mutation areas.

6. Bases

  • Texture paste in a muddy brown works well, drybrushed with pale sand and finished with tufts of dead grass or moss for a blighted battlefield feel.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
