The Ballad of the Street Cats Heavy Gunners bring serious firepower to your underhive gang roster, two bruisers who look like they were born holding something that could punch through a bulkhead door. Wide-legged stances, chunky armour plating, and oversized weapons held with the kind of relaxed confidence that only comes from knowing exactly how much damage you can do. These figures carry the same street-hardened swagger as the rest of the range, and they earn their place at the heavy end of the line.
Each fighter sports a mohawk and the kind of scowling expression that ends arguments before they start. The armour sits heavy on their frames, layered and battered, with coiled ammunition feeds, angular weapons housings, and enough mechanical detail to reward careful painting. At approximately 32mm scale, the proportions are bold and the detail is sharp throughout, from the ribbed ammo belts to the studded shoulder guards.
Sculpted by 42studio, this set ships as two physical resin miniatures with supports already removed, ready to assemble and paint straight out of the box.
Whether you are building out a full Ballad of the Street Cats crew or looking to add a pair of anchor figures with genuine table presence, these two heavies deliver exactly that.
Painting Guide: Ballad of the Street Cats Heavy GunnersThese figures reward a gritty, worn palette that leans into the underhive aesthetic. The deep mechanical detail across the armour and weapons makes layering and washes particularly effective.
1. Prime
- Prime with a black or dark grey spray for maximum shadow depth in the recesses.
- A zenithal highlight in light grey from above helps establish a natural light source before you begin painting.
2. Armour Base
- Base the armour plates in a dark, muted tone such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or Corvus Black for a utilitarian look.
- Alternatively, use a deep blue or olive green to give the gang a more distinct gang colour identity.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out rivets, studs, and trim in a tarnished brass or dirty bronze to contrast against dark armour.
- Use a fine brush on the layered plating edges to add a subtle highlight and separate the panels visually.
4. Weapons
- Base the weapon housings in a dark metallic such as Leadbelcher or Iron Warriors, then wash with Nuln Oil.
- Highlight raised edges with Stormhost Silver or similar bright metallic to make the weapons read clearly at arm's length.
5. Weathering
- Apply a heavy wash of Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil across the whole model to unify tones and push shadow into the recesses.
- Drybrush lightly with Administratum Grey or a pale stone tone across the highest edges of the armour for a dusty, worn finish.
6. Bases
- Match the textured underhive base inserts by painting in dark browns and greys, then drybrushing with a light stone colour and adding rust or grime effects around the edges of the base rim.
