The Ballad of the Street Cats Grenadiers are four fighters who have made a fine art of causing maximum chaos at close range. Armed with pistols, grenades, and the kind of fearless body language that only comes from surviving the underhive long enough to stop caring, these figures bring explosive attitude to any gang roster. Each pose crackles with energy, from a wide-legged gunslinger mid-draw to a sprinting bomber caught mid-stride, grenade already lifted and ready to fly.
The sculpts carry all the hallmarks you expect from this range: layered patchwork armour, studded kneepads, webbing heavy with pouches and kit, and hair styled with the sort of effort that says these fighters care about looking dangerous as much as being it. Skull motifs appear on knee armour, gloves are wrapped tight, and boots are worn but solid. These are street soldiers built for close work, not parade grounds.
Sculpted by 42studio, this squad fits seamlessly alongside the Gang Leaders and Gang Fighters already available in the Ballad of the Street Cats range. At roughly 28mm to 32mm scale, proportions are detailed and characterful without sacrificing the clarity you need for clean brush work. The squad arrives as physical resin miniatures with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready for assembly and painting.
Each set contains 4 miniatures supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue, and bases are not included.
Painting Guide: Ballad of the Street Cats GrenadiersThese fighters suit a gritty, lived-in palette that reflects life below the city grid. Muted base tones punched up with strong washes and a few sharp highlights will carry the detail beautifully.
1. Prime
- Prime with a grey or black spray primer for a neutral base that supports both dark armour and lighter skin tones.
- A light zenithal dusting of white primer from above helps define raised detail before you paint a single stroke.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat armour panels in a dark grey or deep olive for a worn underhive look.
- Add a thin layer of a slightly lighter tone on the upper surfaces to pre-shade your highlights before washing.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out straps, webbing, and pouches in a warm brown or tan to break up the armour tone.
- Paint kneepads and shoulder pieces in a contrasting colour such as dirty bone or muted red to make them pop.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat pistols and grenade bodies in dark steel or gunmetal.
- Drybrush lightly with a bright silver to lift the mechanical edges and give the weapons a well-handled feel.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black oil wash across the whole model and wipe back the raised areas to push depth into every recess.
- Use a sponge or stippling brush with chipped silver to add battle damage across armour panels and boot toes.
6. Bases
- The sculpted urban bases suit a dark concrete texture painted in charcoal with streaks of rust brown and a gloss varnish pooled in low spots to suggest wet ground.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
