The Ballad of the Street Cats Gang Fighters brings eight ruthless, street-hardened warriors to your tabletop, each one bristling with attitude, patchwork armour, and an arsenal that means business. These fighters look like they have survived every back-alley skirmish the underhive can throw at them, and they carry the scars and swagger to prove it.

The squad of eight covers a solid range of combat roles. Automatic rifles, compact pistols, and a bladed knuckle weapon give you genuine tactical variety across the gang. Poses are varied and full of character: one fighter braces wide-legged with a long-barrelled rifle raised, another drops into a low crouch to sight down the scope, a third thrusts a spiked fist skyward in a rallying gesture, and others stride forward with pistols levelled or held at guard. Each figure reads clearly on the tabletop while still feeling like part of a cohesive crew.

Detail throughout is sharp and purposeful. Knee pads, utility belts, skull tokens, dog tags, layered coats, and strapped boots give each fighter a lived-in, street-level look that rewards careful painting.

Sculpted by 42studio, these resin miniatures arrive with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble where needed and prime straight away. Figures stand approximately 28 to 32mm scale.

Painting Guide: Ballad of the Street Cats Gang Fighters

The squad rewards a gritty, worn palette that leans into urban decay and street-gang character. Work each fighter as an individual and the group will still read as a unified crew.

1. Prime

  • Prime with a black or dark grey spray for deep shadow in recesses.
  • Follow with a zenithal light grey or white from above to pre-shade the raised surfaces.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour panels in a desaturated dark green, worn leather brown, or charcoal grey to suit your gang's colours.
  • Apply a thin coat rather than flooding detail, keeping the zenithal shading visible underneath.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out knee pads, belt buckles, and shoulder studs in a dull steel or bronze.
  • Paint skull tokens and dog tags off-white or aged bone to draw the eye to those small focal points.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat rifles and pistols in dark gunmetal, then edge-highlight barrels and receiver corners with bright silver.
  • Add a spot of orange-brown oil paint around vents and joints to suggest rust and heat staining.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple chipped paint onto armour edges using a torn foam sponge and a mid-tone colour slightly lighter than the base.
  • Glaze recesses on coats and trousers with a dark brown wash to build depth in layered fabric.

6. Bases

  • Drybrush the industrial plating with dark silver, then apply a brown and black wash to settle dirt into the grooves.
  • Pick out a detail or two such as a spent casing or a small stencil in a bold accent colour to tie the squad to your table setting.
