Sculpted with stunning precision, this single-figure release depicts a wild-haired human barbarian wielding a massive war-axe staff, with a shortsword strapped at her hip and wind-swept braids framing a face set with cold resolve. The miniature stands approximately 32mm scale and is supplied as a physical, already-printed resin piece with supports removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting straight from the box.

The sculpt is presented in two poses shown across the product images, a front-facing heroic stance and a rear view that reveals the exceptional detail on her braided hair, layered leather bindings, and Celtic-knotwork boot cuffs. The following guide is designed to bring Astrid Stormcaller to life using a gritty, naturalistic palette suited to a warrior raised in harsh wilderness terrain.

1. Prime

• Apply a thin, even coat of grey or bone-coloured primer to capture the fine surface detail across the leather straps, hair, and weapon shaft.

2. Armour Base

• Basecoat all leather areas with a mid-brown such as Rhinox Hide or Leather Brown.
• Apply a warm tan like Zandri Dust or Rawhide to exposed skin areas, building up with thin layers for smooth coverage.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out the Celtic knotwork boot cuffs and bracers with a pale bone or aged bronze tone to make them stand out.
• Use a fine detail brush to edge the leather wrappings with Ushabti Bone or equivalent for a worn, sun-bleached look.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat the axe head with Leadbelcher or Gunmetal, then wash with Nuln Oil for depth in the engravings.
• Drybrush the wooden shaft with Ushabti Bone over a Rhinox Hide base to simulate rough, weathered timber.

5. Weathering

• Add edge chipping to the axe blade using a sponge and thinned Chaos Black for a battle-worn finish.
• Apply thinned brown wash into recesses across the leather and base groundwork to unify the model and increase realism.

6. Bases

• Drybrush the rocky base with Administratum Grey over a Mechanicus Standard Grey basecoat, then add tufts of dry grass or lichen for a windswept highland feel.
