Artan stands ready for battle as a towering holy knight, sculpted by Print Fantasy and supplied as a physical resin miniature at an imposing 75mm scale. This single-figure set arrives with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight to assembly and painting without any preparation headaches.
Clad in ornate plate armour layered with flowing scroll-work and sharp pauldrons, Artan cuts an imposing silhouette. His long coat of mail hangs beneath ceremonial plate, and his great sword is planted firmly at his side, a statement of immovable resolve. Every panel of his armour carries deeply engraved detail that rewards careful brushwork and washes alike. A round shield rests in his off hand, its latticed surface offering excellent texture contrast against the smooth plate.
At 75mm, Artan makes a compelling centrepiece model for display shelves, diorama builds, or tabletop use in any fantasy or grimdark setting that calls for a warrior of divine conviction. The scale means facial detail, hair, and armour filigree are all clearly defined and easy to paint to a high standard.
Sculpted by Print Fantasy, this miniature reflects a professional level of craftsmanship well suited to painters of all experience levels, from those picking up a brush for the first time to seasoned competition painters looking for a rewarding subject.
Painting Guide: ArtanThe following guide is written to help you bring Artan to life with strong contrast, rich metallics, and a battle-worn holy warrior feel that suits his character perfectly.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or white zenithal prime to define the lighting from above and pre-shade the recesses naturally before any paint is applied.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the plate armour in a mid-silver metallic such as Leadbelcher or Iron Hands Steel for a cold, austere finish.
- For a warmer holy knight feel, try a gold basecoat over the trim panels using Retributor Armour or equivalent.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the scroll-work and engraved filigree with a fine detail brush using Auric Gold or Gehenna Gold to separate it visually from the plate.
- Apply a coat of Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil into all recesses to define depth across every armour panel.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the great sword blade in a dark iron tone such as Abaddon Black, then edge highlight with Runefang Steel to suggest a sharp, well-maintained edge.
- Paint the hilt grip in dark leather tones and add a spot colour to the pommel gem for visual interest at the eye level of the figure.
5. Weathering
- Use a sponge or stippling brush with a dark brown-black mix to add light battle damage chips to the shoulder and knee plates.
- Streak thinned Agrax Earthshade or Rhinox Hide vertically down the lower armour sections to suggest campaign grime and wear.
6. Bases
- The cobblestone textured base suits a dark cracked-earth treatment using Stirland Mud texture paint, drybrushed with Tyrant Skull, then finished with tufts or ember glow effects to complement the grimdark aesthetic.
