Speed Painting Orks: Get Your Waaagh! on the Table Fast

Orks. The universe’s answer to “What happens when you give a toddler a chainsaw?” They’re brutal, they’re hilarious, and they always come in bloody massive mobs. If you’ve ever tried painting a whole Waaagh! one-by-one, you’ll know it can feel like a slog through No Man's Land. But fear not—today, we master the art of speed painting Orks.
Step One: The Assembly Line Forget finesse, forget individualism—this is mass production, pure and simple. Prime the lot of 'em at once. Black, no messing about, just black. Then give them a good zenithal highlight - airbrush or make up brush, both are good. Finally, cover the chap in Vallejo Xpress Color Orc Skin (other brands are available). Fast, dirty, and efficient, just like an Ork.
Step Two: Wash and Go Next, it’s time for the wash. A nice drenching of Agrax Earthshade or your preferred dirty water will make your Orks look grimy and battered, as they should. Slather it on, don't be shy. The more it pools in the recesses, the more “natural” your Orks will look. Again, efficiency is key here—you're painting an army, not a Mona Lisa.
Step Three: Drybrush for the Win Now, here’s where the fun comes in. Get a drybrush and go to town on their weapons and armor. Silver for the choppas, maybe a bit of rusty brown for the truly "well-loved" gear. The goal is speed, remember—nobody's inspecting these lads for a Golden Demon. Once you've hit the highlights, call it a day and get them on the battlefield, ready for a proper scrap.
And there you have it—a Waaagh! on the tabletop before you know it, and no one will even notice the shortcuts in the midst of all that glorious Orky chaos.
