Edge Highlighting: A Step-by-Step Guide for Professional-Looking Power Armor
Share
The noble Space Marine. Stalwart defenders of humanity, clad in gleaming power armor. But is it truly gleaming? Or does your poor Astartes look more like they've been traipsing through a muck field for the Emperor? Fear not, dear reader, for today we tackle the ancient and revered art of edge highlighting.
Step One: Base Coats Are Your Foundation, Literally First, slap on that base coat. Be it Ultramarine blue, Blood Angel red, or the very manly (and subtle) purple of the Emperor’s Children, make sure it’s smooth. No streaks here, my friend. We're professional painters, not finger painters.
Step Two: The Thin Line Between Glory and Disaster Now, here’s where the magic happens. Take a lighter shade of your base color—subtle, mind you—and gently drag it along the edges of your Marine’s armor. Use the side of your brush, not the tip, unless you fancy looking like you did the job during a Warp storm. Be light, be precise, and for the love of the Emperor, don't overdo it.
Step Three: 'Ard as Nails Finish Finally, a wee highlight with something even lighter. Think of it as adding a little starlight to the corners and sharp edges. We're not painting a disco ball here, so keep it minimal, my friend. A dab on the helmet, the pauldrons, maybe even a fancy go on the knee pads if you're feeling adventurous. And voila, your Marines shall shine like the Emperor's own halo.
